Toolbars

The bill of quantities has its own toolbar (1) with the following icons:

Symbol Meaning
Insert BQ Inserts a BQ from different sources. For more information, see Import or Management of Bills of Quantities
Delete Deletes the selected element in the BQ after a deletion warning has been confirmed with YES.
Move Moves the selected element one position up/down within the group.
Sort Sorts the elements of the bill of quantities alphabetically.
Information bar Saves the current entries.
Save Checks the entries and the structure of the bill of quantities for mandatory fields that are not filled and errors.
Export Opens the export dialog.
Information bar Selects the parent element in the directory. Is only active if the selected element is not in the top level.
Expand/Collapse Collapse/expand selection completely. Is only active in the outline.
Next required field Jumps to the next empty required field. Alternative: the [F3] key.
Outline view Opens or closes the outline view (3). The vertical dividing line can be moved with the mouse.
Table view Opens or closes the table view (4). The horizontal dividing line can be moved with the mouse.
Form view Opens or closes the form view (5).
Bidder view Displays a view of the directory from the bidder view. Click on EDIT MODE to continue editing the BQ.
Browse Only displayed if the outline (3) and the table (4) are hidden. Enables scrolling within the elements of the bill of quantities.

Below the toolbar (1) there is another toolbar New (2) with labeled buttons for inserting new elements. Each element is identified by its own icon. If you point the mouse at one of these buttons without clicking, the list of equivalent elements will be expanded downwards, if any are available. For example, the list of specialist items appears under the items button.

Frequently asked question

The display of the buttons on the New toolbar (2) depends on which element was selected in the outline view (3). If you have selected Bill of quantity, the icons for entering items are displayed. If Rating scheme is activated, you can only create new criteria or criteria groups. If you select a Questionnaire, only the buttons for the questions are available.

The icons on the New toolbar buttons (2) are described below:

Symbol Meaning
All item types All item types: Are inserted into the BQ at the top level or in groups and subgroups.
Outline level Outline level: Group of items or group of alternative items.
Position or outline level for lots Position or outline level for lots: Is only available in the BQ with lot split.
Free text position Free text position: Is available at BQ, position or group level. Used for the structured breakdown of the BQ.
Price criterion Price criterion: Is available by default in the evaluation scheme. Cannot be renamed.
All Criteria Types All Criteria Types: Are inserted into the evaluation scheme at the top level or in criteria groups and subgroups.
Criteria group Criteria group: Summary of several criteria.
Questionnaire Questionnaire: Can be created at the highest BQ level or for a group, a criterion or an item. Must contain at least one question.
All question types All question types: Are inserted in questionnaires.
